Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are diseases that are spread through anal, oral or vaginal intercourse. Some STDs such as HIV and Hepatitis B can also be transmitted by sharing drug injection equipment. See STD fact sheets below for more information.

Safer Sex and Condoms
Safer sex means always using a latex barrier. This includes using a condom on a man or barrier protection such as plastic wrap, a dental dam, or cut condom for a woman.

Birth Control and Sexual Health The Family Planning Program provides reproductive health, birth control, STD, outreach and education services for King County residents in order to promote sexual health and well being and reduce unintended pregnancies.
