KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON - The King County Board of Health will hold its next meeting on Friday, March 19, 2004, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

IX. Briefing: How Healthy Are We?
Dr. Jim Krieger and Dr. David Solet of Public Health's Epidemiology, Planning, and Evaluation Unit will explain:
  • core health indicators, such as access to health care, obesity and infant mortality
  • how these indicators are selected in evaluations
  • how indicators are used, especially to make informed policy decisions

There will be discussion with the board on the most appropriate indicators for future monitoring of the public's health.
