King County Board of Health meeting on June 16, 2006 in Issaquah

KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON - The King County Board of Health will hold its next meeting on Friday, June 16, 2006, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Issaquah. This is a joint meeting of the King County Board of Health and the King County Council Law, Justice and Human Services Committee.

The meeting will be held at:

9. Drowning and Drowning Prevention
A panel of speakers will brief the Board about the latest drowning data and trends, drowning prevention strategies and work of the Seattle-King County Drowning Prevention Coalition and Statewide Drowning Prevention Network. Panel members will include Dr. Linda Quan, MD, founder and former Director of the Emergency Department at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center (CHRMC), Elizabeth Bennett, Patient/Family Communications Education Manager for CHRMC, and Tony Gomez, Manager of Violence and Injury Prevention for Public Health Seattle & King County. Discussion items will include the many aspects of drowning, from bath tubs to Puget Sound, and successful drowning prevention efforts.
10. Public Health Operation Master Plan (PHOMP) Update
  • Toni Rezab, Project Manager, PHOMP will provide a briefing on the June 15, 2006 PHOMP Steering Committee Meeting.

  • Toni Rezab, Project Manager, PHOMP and Carrie S. Cihak, County Council staff, will provide an overview of the findings included in the Health Environment White Paper. This report was submitted by Milne & Associates as background information for the PHOMP Phase I Policy Framework.
