King County Board of Health meeting on March 15, 2007

KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON - The King County Board of Health will hold its next meeting on Thursday, March 15, 2007, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The meeting will be held at:

9. Resolution No. 07-03 (Action Item)
A resolution supporting policies to promote healthy eating and active living in King County.

10. BOH Briefing No. 07-B07
Kathy Uhlorn, Board Administrator, and Tom Bristow, Government Relations Consultant, will provide the board a state public health financing update.


11. BOH Briefing No. 07-B09 (Action Item)
Toni Rezab, Public Health Operational Master Plan Project Manager, will update the Board on the Public Health Operational Master Plan Update.


12. BOH Briefing No. 07-B10
Anthony Anton, Washington Restaurant Association; Mayor Kenneth G. Hearing, City of North Bend; Diana Vinh, Steps to Health King County; and Marielle Harrington, American Heart Association, will brief the Board on stakeholder and community partner actions to reduce trans fats in King County.

The King County Board of Health sets county-wide public health policy, enacts and enforces local public health regulations, and carries out other duties of local boards of health specified in state law. These duties include enforcing state public health statutes, preventing and controlling the spread of infectious disease, abating nuisances, and establishing fee schedules for licenses, permits and other services.
