November 2003. The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) awarded $149,000 to the King County District Court Mental Health Court as part of the federal government’s 2003 Mental Health Courts grant program. The project will provide for enhanced treatment services for our MHC clients.
July-August 2003. As part of the US State Department’s International Visitors Program, a group of judges and legal officials from the Czech Republic and the Slovac Republic visited the KCDC MHC to observe our court in hopes of learning a different judicial approach to working with the mentally ill offender.
