David Robinson: Building the 777
Students help Boeing Lead Engine Mechanic David Robinson, a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union, implement a change in the manufacturing process to make building and installing the 777 engine more efficient. Students practice communication skills and business writing to convince a crew at Boeing’s Wichita, Kansas, plant to make the change. Lesson plan includes one in-class persuasive writing exercise and choice of several research assignments about various aspects of the design and manufacturing process for the 777 jet.
