2002 Tax Statistics
The increase in total assessed valuation from 2001 to 2002 was $22,576,497,106 or 10.7%, for a total assessed
valuation of $210,996,600,903.
The Department of Assessments is responsible for appraising approximately 570,700 commercial, industrial
and residential properties in King County. Real property valuation increased $21,217,523,023 or 10.83% over
the prior year, for a total of $195,963,645,652.
Personal Property staff assessed approximately 69,400 accounts for 2002 taxes. Personal property valuation increased
by $1,358,974, 083 or 9.04% over the prior year, for a total of $15,032,955,251.
