2003 Tax Statistics
The increase in total assessed valuation from 2002 to 2003 was $13,997,997,307 or 6.2%, for a total assessed
valuation of $224,994,598,210.
The Department of Assessments is responsible for appraising approximately 607,000 commercial, industrial
and residential properties in King County. Real property valuation increased $14,011,768,909 or 7.15% over
the prior year, for a total of $209,975,414,561.
Personal Property staff assessed approximately 59,500 accounts for 2003 taxes. Personal property valuation
decreased by $13,771,602 (or 0.09%) over the prior year, for a total of $15,019,183,649.
