2005 Tax Statistics
The increase in total assessed valuation from 2004 to 2005 was $13,077,527,916 or 5.5%, for a total assessed
valuation of $248,911,782,339.
The Department of Assessments is responsible for appraising approximately 623,000 commercial, industrial and
residential properties in King County. Real property valuation increased $12,686,182,638 or 5.7% over the prior year,
for a total of $234,660,183,661.
Personal Property staff assessed approximately 56,000 accounts for 2005 taxes. Personal property valuation
increased by $387,474,828 or 2.7% over the prior year, for a total of $14,247,728,228.
