2008 Tax Statistics

The increase in total assessed valuation from 2007 to 2008 was $42,240,240,518 or 14.14%, for a total assessed valuation of $340,995,439,577.

The Department of Assessments is responsible for appraising approximately 650,000 commercial, industrial and residential properties in King County. Real property valuation increased $40,839,510,556 or 14.4% over the prior year, for a total of $323,876,823,212.

Personal Property staff assessed approximately 63,600 accounts for 2008 taxes. Personal property valuation increased by $1,400,729,962 or 8.9% over the prior year, for a total of $17,118,616,365.
