No charge! Typical Surplus Items Desks, Credenzas, File Cabinets, Bookcases, Chairs, Counter Stools, Computers and related equipment, and lots of Miscellaneous Office Supplies. Note: The Surplus Program relies solely on King County Agencies for its source of surplus items and exists to save King County agencies from having to buy new equipment and furniture. We do not have the resources to repair broken or dismantled items. If an item is broken, non-working or missing parts, agencies are encouraged to recycle when possible. The King County Solid Waste Division is a good resource for recycling information. You will find them at the following website: RECYCLING Information Click the link. Agencies that need disposal services can make arrangements with the Building Services Work Order desk at 296-0641.
UN-ACCEPTABLE ITEMS Refrigerators and refrigeration equipment, computer software, software manuals, monochrome computer monitors, broken computer monitors, batteries, cell phones, paint, chemicals, non-OSHA approved office/desk chairs and hazardous waste. Although Surplus cannot take these items, some of them may still be reusable or recyclable. For assistance, see the King County WasteWise website or contact WasteWise staff: Tom Watson or Kinley Deller.
WISH LIST: If we don’t have what you’re looking for then you can submit a request on our Wish List Form. We will add your request to our database and your request is good for 90 days. If your requested item comes in to Surplus during that time, we will notify you to schedule an inspection. Please E-mail your requests to
the Surplus request list, or call with questions (206) 296-0627. To download wish list form, click on file below.
SURPLUS PROCEDURES: If you have items for the surplus program please list the items on a King County transfer form, fill out the bottom left custodial agency section and fax the completed form to 206-296-0649. Once the transfer form is received by the surplus staff a work order will be submitted to King County Facilities Management. Facilities will respond within 5-10 business days otherwise call 296-0641 for specific scheduling needs. Due to prior scheduling of the Facilities Movers, requests are usually handled in the order in which they are received. The Facilities truck is usually scheduled to capacity so even if you happen to see the Facilities Movers in your area they may not be able to just pick up your items at a moments notice. Please have patience as the movers only pick up surplus on a few select days of the week and often have other work related duties to complete prior to handling surplus requests. To download a SURPLUS TRANSFER form, click on the file below.
