Where to Take Wood Debris
On occasion following an emergency
King County has offered free garbage disposal. Disposal of municipal
solid waste (traditional “garbage”) is handled by
the County. In this particular storm most of the debris is land
clearing waste (wood waste, trees, stumps, etc.) that is handled
through the private sector and recycled.
The King County Solid Waste Division web site
http://www.metrokc.gov/dnrp/swd/
has identified approximately 30 private sector recycling processors
throughout King County that can handle the land clearing debris
at costs significantly below King County disposal rates.
In addition, Rainier Wood Recyclers will be
accepting wood “storm debris” on Saturday, December
23rd, only from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. FREE OF CHARGE.
Their two facilities are:
• Auburn- 32300 148th Avenue SE; Tel 253-333-0333
• Fall City- 33216 SE Redmond Fall City Road (Rt. 202);
Tel. 425-222-0008
