Information for Job Seekers
The King County Jobs Initiative offers the following services free of charge, if you're eligible:
Account Executives will work with you to assess your job skills and determine
what services you might need. They will then help you identify possible
jobs or job training options.
KCJI offers job training and job opportunities in employment areas which we believe offer the most potential for wage growth. These targeted areas include:
- Certified nursing/hospital assistant
- Hazardous materials technician
- Construction
- Manufacturing
- Warehouse
- Short-haul truck driving
- Office occupations
- Electronic assembly
- Airport related jobs
KCJI enrolls clients in a variety of trainings with different start dates and locations. Training generally lasts no more than 12 weeks. We will also help you with transportation to get to training and work, child care to enable you to work, and emergency services as needed.
KCJI provides an intensive four-day Job Readiness Training to all participants. This training helps participants understand and prepare for their transition into training and employment.
KCJI Account Executives provide quality case management. This means you work with the same person from enrollment, through your training, and until you have worked on your new job for one year. Job placements are in full-time jobs paying at least $9 per hour, many with benefits.
