The role of the Advisory Council is to identify the
needs of older people and of adults with disabilities
in our community, to advise on services to meet these
needs, and to advocate for local, state, and national
programs that promote quality of life.
Council Composition
King County, United Way of King County, and the City
of Seattle each appoint nine members to the 27-member
Advisory Council. Currently, the vice-chair of the Council
and the member-at-large are County appointees. View

Meeting Details:
The Advisory Council meets on the 2nd Friday of every
month from Noon to 2:00 p.m. in the Seattle Municipal
Tower, Room 6070. All meetings are open to the public.

Time Commitment
King County appointees serve a two-year term, with the
potential of being appointed for an additional, consecutive
two-year term. Appointees are expected to represent
their particular region of the County by serving on
one of the committees as well as by attending the Council
meetings.
