King County Parent Coalition for Developmental Disabilities
The King County Parent Coalition for Developmental Disabilities is a group of parents and family members who advocate for a better future in the community for all people with developmental disabilities. The coalition provides the opportunity for learning advocacy and networking with other family members in King County. We distribute pertinent, up-to-date information by means of mailings, email alerts and monthly meetings.
As advocates, we make an effort to impact decisions in policy and legislation for our family members. Annually we host a Summer Picnic and a Fall Forum for Legislators in conjunction with the King County Board for Developmental Disabilities.
Meeting Schedule:
Monthly meetings are on 2nd Tuesday in Bellevue, 7 - 9 p.m. at the
Highland Recreation Center, 14224 Bel-Red Road, and on 2nd
Thursday in Tukwila, 7 - 9p.m. at the offices of Washington Initiative
for Supported Employment, 16000 Christensen Road, Suite 240.
The public is welcome to attend. We appreciate members who represent all ages, disabilities, ethnic backgrounds and geographic locations in King County. Members are expected to pass information on to other interested people - family members, professionals, teachers, etc. New members are always welcome.
