Cross Agency Systems Training (CAST)
CAST is a FREE one-day training for parents, family members, program and administrative staff, social services personnel, and others interested in learning more about the public mental health system and related services.
Different sessions are offered for Children's services and adult/older adult services. The aim of the training is to give individuals an understanding of:
- Who each system serves,
- The eligibility criteria for each system,
- The range of available programs,
- How to advocate for your client in the various child-serving systems,
- Who to contact at these resources if you are having difficulty with
the services offered.
The systems presenting at these trainings include: Public assistance, special education, child welfare services, public health, alcohol and drug abuse services, developmental disabilities, juvenile justice, juvenile rehabilitation, mental health, involuntary treatment services, vocational resources, criminal justice, housing, home and community services, and senior information and assistance.
