The County Council and the County Executive will jointly proclaim October as Disability Awareness Month.

Art Display by VSA Arts of Washington
In the Administration Building Tunnel
VSAAW is as an affiliate of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. It creates learning opportunities through the arts for people with disabilities by creating inclusive programming in education, access, exhibits, and studio experiences throughout Washington State.

Osteoporosis: Taking Control of Your Bone Health

Osteoporosis affects more than half of women over the age of 50 and one in four men over age 50 will suffer an osteoporosis-related fracture. It is never too late to do something about this common and preventable condition. Join Swedish Medical Center Nurse Practitioner Sue Williams-Judge for this class that will help you take control of your bone health. Learn what osteoporosis is, how it is prevented, diagnosed, and managed.

Causes of Insomnia and Treatment Options

According to the National Center for Sleep Disorders, 70 million Americans suffer from disorders of sleep and wakefulness. Kimberlee Lonergan, ARNP from Sleep Medicine Northwest will discuss types of insomnia, causes, use of medications, "sleep hygiene", and guidelines for sleeping well.
