FAIR HOUSING UPDATE
NONPROFIT FAIR HOUSING AGENCY
WINS AWARD

The Fair Housing Center of Washington was recognized for business leadership by the Tacoma Pierce County Chamber of Commerce at their annual Spotlight on Business Award ceremony on June 26th.

The Fair Housing Center was a finalist with three other nonprofit agencies to include the Museum of Glass, American Red Cross and CenterForce. Approximately 40 agencies were nominated for the awards. Nominees were asked to submit applications to the Chamber of Commerce that highlighted services and mission, growth in employees and services (or sales), evidence of contributing to community based projects, innovations in service delivery, response to adversity and fiscal soundness. Three businesses won awards in the for-profit category.

Award winners will be featured on a downtown Tacoma billboard and were given the star treatment of one dozen red roses, a chocolate "Oscar" and a trophy. Staff and board members of the Fair Housing Center of Washington are thrilled with the message this gives to community partners in the shared mission to address housing discrimination!
