OCR CAN'T HANDLE DISCRIMINATION COMPLAINTS EVERYWHERE IN KING COUNTY!

We have authority to accept and investigate complaints only when:

– the employer, housing or business is in unincorporated King County
– when the employer or provider of public accommodations is King County government.

Unincorporated King County is the area that is NOT inside the cities or towns. For example:

– OCR does not have jurisdiction to take complaints about an employer within the city limits of
Issaquah, a landlord inside the city of Federal Way, or a business in Renton.
– OCR does have authority to take complaints about an employer outside the city limits of Auburn,
a landlord in Skyway, or a business in the unincorporated town of Vashon.

Unsure whether your possible complaint is in unincorporated King County? Call or e-mail us!
