WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS FREE TRAINING? Housing owners, property managers, tenants, housing advocates – Whatever your role, you must be familiar with the federal Fair Housing Act and other applicable state and local fair housing laws. This knowledge is not only critical to prevent costly violations, it also leads to good business practices. WHY ATTEND? The Fair Housing Basics Workshop is designed to help you be proactive – to prevent violations of the fair housing laws before they occur. Attendees will gain insight into the following:
Participants at the workshop and seminar receive extensive free fair housing materials, in print and CD format. WHO ARE THE TRAINERS? The Fair housing workshop and seminar are co-sponsored and taught by staff from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Washington State Human Rights Commission, the King County Office of Civil Rights, and the Seattle Office for Civil Rights. These training workshops are offered six times per year. |
| Driving Directions to Jackson Federal Building The Jackson Federal Building covers the entire block between First and Second Avenues, Madison and Marion Streets. Enter through the security checkpoint on the east side, off Second Avenue (this is the fourth floor). Driving southbound on I-5: Take the Union Street exit (number 165B). Follow Union about six blocks, turn left onto Second Avenue, and drive five blocks. Driving northbound on I-5: Take the Seneca Street exit (number 165) on the left. Turn slight left onto Seneca and drive three blocks, then turn left onto Second Avenue, and drive three blocks. |
