Public Involvement

Public Involvement Public Meetings Residents are invited to participate in public meetings related to long-range planning efforts.

The Solid Waste Division offers many public involvement and volunteer opportunities in the county's solid waste service area, which includes unincorporated King County and all cities in the county, except for Seattle and Milton.

Residents can:

• Serve on the King County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC).
• Participate in Public Meetings related to Transfer Station Construction Projects and long-range planning efforts such as the Waste Export Plan.
• Become a Master Recycler Composter and participate in volunteer activities that help residents make informed decisions about preventing waste and using resources wisely.
• Take a tour of a solid waste facility.
