King County residents may subscribe to yard waste collection. Contact your garbage hauler by selecting your city from the drop-down menu below.

Self-haul

Leaves, grass, brush, clippings, pruning waste, and branches under four inches in diameter and eight feet in length may be taken to the Cedar Falls Drop Box in North Bend, and the Shoreline and Enumclaw transfer stations.

• The fee is $13.25 per passenger vehicle; $82.50 per ton ($13.25 minimum).
• No stumps, dimensional lumber, rocks, dirt or sod, demolition debris or plastic is accepted as yard waste.
• Containers used for transport must be emptied and taken home for disposal or reuse, including plastic bags.
• If loads are mixed with debris other than yard waste, the higher garbage rate of $17.25 minimum, $95.00 per ton plus tax and surcharge ($102.05) will be charged.
• Loads must be secured. A secured load is a load of material that has been tied, tarped, secured or covered in the vehicle in a manner that will prevent any material from leaving the vehicle while the vehicle is in motion. Any vehicles arriving at any public or private transfer station or landfill in King County with unsecured loads can be charged an unsecured load fee. The unsecured load fees are:
  • $3.00 for passenger licensed vehicles
  • $5.00 for trucks less than or equal to 8,000 pounds licensed gross vehicle weight
  • $10.00 for trucks greater than 8,000 pounds licensed gross vehicle weight.
