Classroom Presentations

A student learns to recognize hazardous products in a label-reading activity.

Teachers who participate in the Hazards on the Homefront workshop can receive a classroom presentation on household hazardous waste tailored to their subject and needs. Lesson topics include

  • recognizing household hazardous products
  • effects of hazardous waste on the environment
  • shopping smart and choosing safer substitutes
  • designing and implementing student action projects about household hazardous waste

Teachers who complete the workshop can also request funding through mini-grants.
