The assembly is presented late September through March and includes two versions, one primary and one intermediate, with each running about 45 minutes. Schools with more than 350 students receive two assemblies. Use an assembly discussion guide (PDF, 587 K) to do activities with your students before or after the assembly.

Schools that schedule the assembly can receive up to three classroom workshops that expand on the assembly messages. Though the assembly is limited to the first 50 schools that sign up, all King County elementary schools (outside of Seattle) may participate in the Green Team program. Our Green Team specialist will assist teachers and/or school environmental clubs that want to take on projects to conserve natural resources and protect the environment.

King County thanks the Washington State Department of Ecology for funding the litter education portion of this program.

These programs and services are available to schools in King County (schools within the Seattle city limits are eligible only for the Household Hazardous Waste program) and are provided at no charge to the recipient.
