Listing PolicyComplete guidelines for use of the Online Materials Exchange are outlined in the User Agreement. To help users properly list items, we have highlighted some listing policies here and describe how we handle listing violations when they are discovered. The Online Materials Exchange Web site is operated by the King County Solid Waste Division (SWD) as a public service to the residents of King County. The goal of the Online Materials Exchange is to provide a safe and efficient venue for exchanging relatively inexpensive, re-usable items so that these items may be kept out of the waste stream. The focus of the Online Materials Exchange is waste reduction; not financial gain by registered site users. To accomplish these goals, the SWD may set price restrictions for the household items and building materials listed on the site. In addition, various categories of listings are prohibited for reasons of public safety, site efficiency, or because they do not satisfy the goals of the Online Materials Exchange. Whether a listing satisfies these policies and accomplishes the stated goals of the Online Materials Exchange is determined at the sole discretion of the site administrator. The site administrator may remove a listing at any time and for any reason. In addition, the site administrator may, at his or her discretion, temporarily or permanently bar a user from accessing the Online Materials Exchange if the user has listed an item that violates these listing policies. The decision of the site administrator to remove an item or to suspend a user from the site is final and not subject to appeal or review. Prohibited Items Offensive Language, and Harmful, Inaccurate or Deceptive Descriptions or Materials Geographic Restrictions Age Restrictions Advertisements and Credits Bonuses, giveaways, raffles and prizes Links Item Amount Limits The maximum dollar amount allowed for items listed in the household materials section of the Online Materials Exchange is currently $250.00. There currently is no limit for items listed in the reusable building materials section of the site. If you have items you wish to sell that are greater than the price limit(s) set for the Online Materials Exchange, please contact one of the many local classified advertising resources in the area.
