GarbageCollection Services for Residents and BusinessesGarbage collection in King County is carried out by private service providers, or haulers, except in Enumclaw and Skykomish, which provide their own garbage collection. Two national companies, Waste Management, Inc., and Allied Waste, provide most of the collection services in the county. These companies do business under many different company names depending on which area of King County they serve. Cleanscapes will serve the City of Shoreline beginning March 1, 2008. Waste Connections, Inc., provides hauling services on Vashon Island only. The City of Seattle is not included in King County's service area. If you live within the city, contact the City of Seattle Public Utilities (external link) at 206-684-3000 for assistance. Use the drop-down menu below to find the garbage hauler for your area. Garbage & Recycling Commercial Garbage ServicesGarbage haulers operate in specific areas of King County, either under contract to the city or as authorized by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (external).
Self-Haul Services for Residents and BusinessesSome customers – both residential and business – choose to haul wastes and recyclables to county facilities themselves. For a list of facilities, hours of operation, location, directions and the types of waste or recyclables accepted at each facility, please visit the Facilities site. |
