New Recycling Video

Ever wonder what happens to your recyclables after they are picked up? Watch a short video on the "Recycle More…" Web site to find out.

Recycling separates paper, cardboard, glass, metal, and other materials, from the garbage for reuse or reprocessing into new products. Recyclable materials, food scraps and yard waste are collected curbside in almost all areas of King County. Over half of materials thrown away, could have been recycled. King County has  an ambitious  goal to achieve Zero Waste of Resources (ZWR) by 2030. This means that materials  with value will not be thrown away.

Recycling can reduce the size of your garbage can and the size of your garbage bill. Curbside collection of recyclables is available to more than 90 percent of customers in the county's service. Use the drop-down menu below to find the service provider or recycling coordinator for your area

Garbage & Recycling

To learn more about what what goes in your recycle bin and what stays out read Your Guide to Curbside Recycling (PDF, 229 K).

Recycling bins for residential customers are also located at all transfer stations and drop boxes except Algona and Factoria.

Other locations for recycling these and additional materials can be found at the What do I do with…? site.
