Permitting Incentives in Unincorporated King County

Permitting Incentives

The Department of Development and Environmental Services (DDES) provides a number of incentives to encourage green building and low impact development practices in unincorporated King County. By promoting and supporting green building and low impact development in projects, DDES can help builders and developers create communities that are healthy for families and for our Northwest environment. Incentives include:

  • staff knowledgeable in green building strategies that are assigned to green building and low impact development projects
  • customized review schedule, up to 10 hours of free project management and priority processing for residential projects achieving a five-star Built Green™ rating
  • free green building and low impact development technical consulting services for DDES customers

For more information on these incentives, see DDES Customer Information Bulletin #55 (PDF, 144 K)
