Expanded Polystyrene Recycling Project

LinkUp is providing technical and marketing support to local recycler, Total Reclaim Environmental Services (external), as the company establishes an expanded polystyrene (EPS) processing facility, which will serve Seattle and King County.

Total Reclaim has been awarded LinkUp assistance valuing $20,000 through a competitive process. The project workplan includes the following assistance:

  1. Identification of potential customers that generate substantial volumes of EPS for recycling through their business activities.
  2. Promotional and marketing assistance to encourage generators of EPS to change their current practice from landfilling to recycling.
  3. Assistance in identifying additional collection sites and partners that can collect and consolidate EPS from consumers and small businesses.
  4. Identification of potential domestic end markets for processed EPS.
