Earth Hero Program

Meet our May 2000 Corporate Earth Hero!

Nestlé USA Corporation
Nestlé USA Corporation has become King County's First Earth Hero for May 2000. On May 9, 2000, King County Executive Ron Sims honored Nestlé USA for their donation of rural land to King County and their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the natural environment. The land, 60 acres in the Snoqualmie Valley, known as a portion of the Carnation Farms, is a familiar landmark to residents, and one that, as a result of this donation, will remain rural for generations to come.

This site will benefit early projects that will support Endangered Species Act efforts in the Snoqualmie watershed. The property is boarded by the Snoqualmie River, with one mile of river frontage boarders the 60 acres of cleared pastureland and riparian forest on the north, west, and east. There is a key salmon spawling area long this portion of the river, and a bald eagle nest location on the forested region.

Nestle USA has been a food and beverage producer for more than a century, with brand names ranging from Stouffers and Libbys to Carnation, Ortega and Nestlé's "very best chocolates."
