The Wastemobile
What is it? The Wastemobile safely manages household hazardous waste around the county reducing risks to our streams, children, pets, and more.

How does it help? Since 1989, the program has collected 18 million pounds of household hazardous waste from going into our landfills, sewers and storm drains.

What can I do? Participate in the program and reduce the use of hazardous chemicals. In your home! Contact Jim Neely at (206) 296-4472 or by e-mail or visit the Wastemobile website.

Noxious Weed Control Program
Noxious Weed Control Program What is it? This program educates landowners and provides technical assistance to eradicate noxious weeds.

How does it help the environment? Noxious weeds pose a significant threat to the environmental health of the region. Therefore, destroying existing noxious weeds and preventing future outbreaks is key to our environmental future.

What do I need to do? There are many ways you can help stop noxious weeds. To find out more call Jane Wentworth at (206) 205-6927 or via e-mail. Visit the Noxious Weed Program website.

Industrial Waste Program
What is it? This program protects water quality by limiting the amount of industrial waste released in our sewage system.

How does it help the environment? It prevents industrial contaminants from entering the sewage system and thus limits the amount of water pollution.

What do I need to do? Subscribe to our newsletter to learn more, or contact Elsie Hulsizer at (206) 263-3010 or by e-mail. Visit the Industrial Waste website.

Computer Recovery Project
Computer Recovery Project What is it? A network of collection sites so that the public can reuse or recycle their computers and parts.

How does it help the environment? Computers contain many hazardous or recyclable materials that should not be trashed. This project sees that those materials are disposed of properly or reused.

What can I do? Thinking of getting rid of a computer? Call (206) 296-8800 or visit the Computer Recovery Project website.
