Newcastle needs fresh leadership that will actively oversee
our city, and be accountable to the taxpayers of Newcastle. I will seek to open
up the public process, and encourage the council and staff to listen much more
attentively and seriously to the views of our citizens.
I have served as Chair of the Newcastle Planning Commission
since 1998. My goal has been the citizens’ vision; "to maintain the feel of a
small town." Local needs such as public safety, traffic improvements, pedestrian
safety, open space, parks, and trails must be priorities.
Newcastle’s current City Council has not kept a tight rein on
city expenditures. We must return to the original vision of a small efficiently
run city government. Newcastle has limited financial resources so we must make
prudent choices in spending those resources. I will hold the line against
property tax increases.

My goal is to ensure that the activities and decisions of the
City are based on the needs of the community. I remain committed to neighborhood
improvements; including traffic calming, storm water repairs, and neighborhood
parks. We can be proud of our accomplishments, as Newcastle moves forward from a
young city to a place of prominence on the eastside.
After two years of service, I was unanimously elected Deputy
Mayor by the Council. I am a licensed civil engineer specializing in
transportation; which has been a direct benefit to the City. The ability to move
around by car, bus, bike, or foot is an important aspect of our community life.
I live with my family in Newport Woods. We really enjoy all
that Newcastle has to offer. We live in a unique setting and the future is ours.
With your vote we will continue, Building a Community.
