Terri Briere was appointed to Renton City Council November
2000, to fill the seat vacated by the late Tim Schlitzer. Terri became involved
immediately. She is chair of the council’s Utilities Committee; vice chair,
Planning and Development Committee; committee member, Transportation/Aviation
Committee and the Aviation Advisory Committee.
Terri’s priorities are: 1) Neighborhoods--developing
solutions that minimize developmental impact and preserve our neighborhoods’
unique characteristics. 2) Airport--continuous evaluation of strategies and
decisions of our airport and impact upon community. 3) Historic Building
Preservation--identifying and defining historic buildings and areas. Establish
incentives for downtown building owners.
"Renton is a healthy, vibrant city. I enjoy working with both
my neighbors and the business community to develop workable solutions. I
appreciate the ongoing open dialogues we have. My goal is to work together,
finding solutions that make sense, to our residents and businesses."

Renton is a great place to live, I want to make it even
better. As Renton grows we must make sure that the residents of this City are
our number one priority. We must focus our energy on our residents and their
needs. We must treat each resident with dignity and respect. While our City
grows we must hire more Fire and Police Officers. As large transportation
projects loom on the horizon they must not be allowed to detract from the
individual residents quality of life. As we work to bring more business and
development to our City we must make sure it is not at the expense of our
residents and the quality of our lives. Renton is my home, this is our City and
I want to work for you on the Renton City Council.
