Skykomish
residents have seen increases in their utility bills because there is no tax
revenue from business. I want to encourage a diversity of business in Skykomish
and then relieve the taxpayer from high utility rates. It was ordained for the
utility rates to increase 6% each year for four years. Skykomish residents can
not foot the bill with a false understanding that the problems are being
addressed. Residents won’t be able to give enough money to correct the problems.
The taxes have to come from visitors coming into town, not residents.
I have been on the Council nearly a year and have seen time
after time the taxpayer being penalized for the lack of tax revenue coming into
town. Permits are ridiculously high and insulting. I will work to see
these lowered to a reasonable fair cost. Thank you.
