FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NO. 44 COMMISSIONER POS. NO. 04, 6 YR TERM

Frederick D. Heistuman

My name is Fred Heistuman, and I am running for Fire Commissioner for Fire District 44. I have lived in Fire District 44 for more than 5 years. I am a 21-year fire service veteran. My interest in the Fire Service began when I started as a volunteer firefighter. I felt the need to be involved with the community. This interest in the Fire Service led me to select that occupation as a career. I have been a career firefighter for 16 years, 11 of those years I have been in a supervisory role. I have experience in fireground operations and administrative activities including budgeting and public relation functions.

With my interest and commitment of serving the community, coupled with my Fire Service background, I believe I would be a valuable asset to the Board of Commissioners of Fire District 44.

James E. Farrell

James Farrell, a 35-year resident of Auburn, is committed to serving his community. For 32 of those years he taught and coached in the Auburn School District. He and his wife, Christine, have made their home within Fire Protection District 44 for over 20 years. Jim has been active in serving on the boards of Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound and Wesley Homes chairing committees on finance and long-range fiscal planning. Jim also serves as lay leader of the First United Methodist Church and a longtime member of Auburn Valley Kiwanis Club. The Board of Fire Commissioners of District 44 named Jim to an unexpired term, which he is currently filling.

With Jim’s active presence in his community coupled with long tenure on boards, he would be the best candidate to fill this position.
