List of Candidates for
WATER DISTRICT NO. 85 COMMISSIONER POS. NO. 02, 6 YR TERM

Darold P. Doell

Darold Doell, a Seahurst resident for over 35 years, has worked tirelessly to upgrade the water system, using skilled management and fiscal abilities to ensure high water quality and increased fire protection.

His accomplishments include: Upgrading approximately 35% of the water system without incurring debt; completion of a permanent office facility on S.W. 146th, thus reducing operational costs; instrumental in securing a $1.3 million State of Washington low interest loan to be used in upgrading the remaining 65% of system. Upon completion of this project, the district will be in position to negotiate a long-term contract for water service to benefit all ratepayers. Darold earned a Bachelor’s and M.B.A. degree; a Management Consultant for over 25 years; and retired USAF Officer.

As a commissioner, Darold will continue to work hard to maintain standards of excellence, dedication, and integrity, and thanks you for the opportunity to serve.

Joseph J. Wozniak

I have two degrees in Business Administration and many years of business financial experience. My family and I have lived in Water District #85 for over 31 years.

The District is the single source of water for human use and fire protection. It charges one of the highest rates in the area for this service. For this very high rate, the District does not provide adequate water flow and pressure for fire protection. Many of the installed pipes and fire hydrants are undersized, inadequate and nearly fifty years old. This is not a new problem. Ratepayers have believed that they have been paying for adequate water for fire protection.  The Commissioners have not addressed this unacceptable situation. There exist solutions to these problems at lower rates. I believe that I can help realize these solutions for the benefit of the Water District #85 customers.
