List of Candidates for
CITY OF BLACK DIAMOND MAYOR, 4 YR TERM

Barry Kombol

    I’m Barry Kombol. Please vote for me for mayor. I’ve owned a business here for 23 years. I’ve lived at Lake Sawyer since 1998. I’ve heard frustrations about City Hall from citizens, institutions and businesses. I’m concerned that our City is becoming an unfriendly place. Our churches have been frustrated in construction of facilities. A culture of conflict exists which frustrates businesses wanting to locate here. This places the burden of municipal expenses on homeowners. My priorities:

    • To make our first priority police and fire protection;

    • To instill a culture of cooperation at City Hall;

    • To ensure utility costs are low;

    • To protect our environment and precious resources;

    • To ensure City Ordinances are fair and reasonable;

    • To encouraging new businesses to locate here;

    • To work to integrate neighborhoods to create community for all citizens.

    With your support, I will make positive changes. Please vote for me.

Howard Botts

    I have lived in Black Diamond all my life and have always been interested in the City, serving eight years on the City Council, ten years on the Planning Commission and eighteen years as Mayor for the City of Black Diamond. Being retired affords me more time to be involved with issues that effect our City both on the County and State levels. I believe growth is inevitable, but it needs to be responsible growth, considering all the environmental issues. In the past eighteen years we have almost doubled the population of Black Diamond through the annexation of Lake Sawyer.

    Many of you have chosen to live in Black Diamond because it is special. I look forward to your support as I pledge to work hard to ensure that economic growth and development is carefully balanced with the preservation of Black Diamond’s unique natural resources and community character.
