List of Candidates for
VAL-VUE SEWER DISTRICT COMMISSIONER POS. NO. 02, 6 YR TERM

Michael J. West

As a business owner for 30 years, and a resident of the same home for 34 years, I feel I have much to be thankful for. Consequently, I feel my service as a Commissioner in the Val-Vue Sewer District, is one way of “giving back” to the community that has supported me and my family these 30 years.

I’ve served 19 years on the Board of Commissioners of the Val-Vue Sewer District. I’m also a Past President of the Washington Association of Sewer and Water Districts and served 6 years on the Board of Directors of that association. I was named Commissioner of the Year for 1999 by my peers. I’m honest, experienced, and truly take pride in serving as a Commissioner.

The Val-Vue Sewer District, is one of the most effective and responsive forms of government there is.

To serve as Commissioner, would be an honor.

David L. Ruiter

I have served as your Commissioner for 12 years, including two years as Board President. During my tenure as Commissioner, I helped develop and supported a merger with Rainier Vista Sewer District. I helped create a system for automatic payment of bills. I assisted the elderly by developing a District low income program with the Salvation Army. I was the only Board member who voted against the last rate increase which I did not believe was necessary.

I am a 35-year resident of our area and work for Burlington Northern Railroad. I am a Journeyman Electrician and financial secretary for the IBEW.

As a ratepayer and Commissioner, I will work for stable rates, sound management policies and ethical behavior. I will continue to see that you receive fair treatment and easy access to the Board of Commissioners.

I would like to thank you for your vote.
