PUBLIC HOSPITAL DISTRICT NO. 1 COMMISSIONER DISTRICT NO. 03, 6 YR TERM

Carole A. Anderson

Carole Anderson is an experienced healthcare commissioner who has consistently focused on the best way to allocate scarce resources for the greater public good. As a result, Valley Medical Center has one of the lowest tax rates of the 50+ hospital districts. It is also among the most generous in providing community outreach, thanks to Carole’s stewardship.

A lifelong Kent resident and community volunteer, Carole is an advocate for programs benefiting women and children. Her accomplishments as Commissioner include the current development of a comprehensive breast health center at Valley, offering state-of-the-art diagnosis, consultation and treatment in one convenient location. In addition, she has been the champion for offering free immunizations for school children, maintaining Valley’s Family Practice Residency serving low income families from Seattle to Tacoma, and sponsoring Valley’s first recovery center for drug and alcohol addiction.

Carole has served on the board of the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center, is a member of Children’s Orthopedic Guild and was on the King County Library board and an active PTA member. The first woman president on Valley Medical Center’s board, she has served the community well since she began office.
