CITY OF DES MOINES COUNCIL POS. NO. 03, 4 YR TERM

Dave Kaplan

    Common sense. Hard work. Integrity.

That’s what you expect from your elected officials, and that is what you have received and will continue to get from me.

Whether it’s fighting to protect your ability to rebuild non-conforming condominiums in the advent of a disaster, repealing unnecessary utility fees and taxes, or working for the long-term economic health of Des Moines, I have taken the lead.

Four years ago I committed to work on five issues: youth recreational facilities; fighting the proposed Third Runway; fiscal responsibility; finding an alternative to the current Senior Center; and promoting business development. Today I can report that we have made progress on nearly all of those issues.

While I haven’t been entirely successful, I have worked hard to achieve those things I told you that I would  when I ran four years ago.

Please, remember to vote for me on November 6th. Thank you!

Gary W. Petersen

Our City has problems that I think I can help solve.

We’ve all been affected by a City Council that needs a change in direction.

There’s only one way to fix the problems. Elect those who will protect your interests.

As the owner operator of “Pete’s Towing,” I know how to handle money.

Tens of millions of our tax dollars need better management.

I’ll handle your money like I run my business.

Don’t you think your money deserves more attention? I promise to do better when I’m elected. We didn’t need, and still don’t need a parking tax, a 300% increase in business licenses, or increases in our Electric, Sewer, Garbage, Telephone, and Cable bills, and an increase in our Property taxes every year. Examine your utility bills and your property tax statement to see how your City Council has treated you!

Please Vote for Gary Petersen
