During my 12 years on
the Lake Forest Park City Council, we have demonstrably raised the quality of
air and water in our city, and greatly improved the services we offer our
citizens.
We have added three
public parks--there were none when I was first elected in 1989.
Our city is the first
to be named an “Earth City” under King County’s program of recognizing
communities that excel in protecting natural resources.
Our new city hall
will open by the end of the year, located--as our citizens asked--at Towne
Center.
The city web site,
which I worked to initiate, is flourishing and heavily used.
I have made certain
that our city is heard in decision forums that set regional policies in such
areas as criminal justice, solid waste and human services.
With continuing
growth pressures, we will need experienced leaders who understand our city’s
unique heritage.
