CITY OF LAKE FOREST PARK COUNCIL POS. NO. 01, 4 YR TERM

Tom French

Tom French-A Fresh Perspective for Lake Forest Park.

As a life-long resident of Lake Forest Park, I have many fond memories of growing up in our wonderful city: from delivering newspapers to many of your front doorsteps to serving Shorecrest High School as Honor Society President many years ago.

Today, we have a unique opportunity as a community to shape and control the direction of Lake Forest Park-as a city and as our home. As we examine the future of our city, it is essential that additional consideration be given to:

    • FAIR AND RESPONSIBLE TAXATION,

    • The RIGHTS OF PROPERTY OWNERS,

    • The FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY of the city.

It is time to rethink the City’s “credit-card” mentality, restore accountability and bring a fresh perspective to the leadership of Lake Forest Park.

Thank you for your consideration and I hope to have your vote on November 6th.

Alan Kiest

During my 12 years on the Lake Forest Park City Council, we have demonstrably raised the quality of air and water in our city, and greatly improved the services we offer our citizens.

We have added three public parks--there were none when I was first elected in 1989.

Our city is the first to be named an “Earth City” under King County’s program of recognizing communities that excel in protecting natural resources.

Our new city hall will open by the end of the year, located--as our citizens asked--at Towne Center.

The city web site, which I worked to initiate, is flourishing and heavily used.

I have made certain that our city is heard in decision forums that set regional policies in such areas as criminal justice, solid waste and human services.

With continuing growth pressures, we will need experienced leaders who understand our city’s unique heritage.
