When your kind support elected me to this office, I pledged to serve you by
seeking a better future for our children and grandchildren. Working together, we
have made significant progress, and I hope to continue representing you for
another term.
During my tenure as your King County Councilman, I successfully sponsored
legislation to implement many needed reforms, including legislation to give
citizens better access to a more responsive county government, to improve public
safety, to hold dangerous criminals accountable for their actions, to protect
victims of crime, to toughen the county’s ethics code, to achieve housing that
is more affordable, and to improve our public health system.
I hope to continue my partnership with you to help protect the rural
character of our area. In addition, I will continue to work for those values and
principles that strengthen our society, such as fiscal responsibility, a healthy
family unit, a quality environment, a strong economy with family-wage jobs,
relief of traffic congestion, and a system of land use planning that meets the
real needs of people.
