List of Candidates for
METROPOLITAN KING COUNTY COUNCIL DISTRICT NO. 13, SHORT & FULL TERM

Julia Patterson

Democrat

“Her roots in the district are so deep they hit bedrock.”

This quote by the Tacoma News Tribune summarizes Julia Patterson’s commitment.

Julia helped SeaTac become a city, serving on it’s first city council. She served as a State Representative in Olympia, delivering on schools and police funding. She was promoted by voters to the State Senate, delivering on health care reform. She was rated by The Municipal League as “OUTSTANDING,” a rating handed to very few of King County’s leaders.

Julia believes traffic jams aren’t Democrat or Republican.

She believes people in South King County just want things to work - like transportation, our schools, and police protection. Julia will find solutions to what’s limiting County government, without partisanship - by returning the council to hard work and honesty.

Julia is a moderate mom in a time of political extremes.

She believes in public service, not political games. She believes integrity is the value that matters most. She depended on these values last year while serving us on the State Ethics Board.

Julia comes from four generations of Washingtonians. Elect Julia Patterson to the King County Council. She knows our community, and cares deeply about it.

Pam Roach

Republican

I am running for King County Council because I want to relieve traffic congestion, secure public safety and control property taxes.

As a State Senator representing South King County for eleven years, I have a reputation as a tough fighter for our area -- a person willing to stand up to special interests.

Roach Will Stop Transportation Gridlock - More roads need to be built and major highways must be widened. Telecommuting and ride-sharing are not enough. Good intentions do not pave any  roads, after all.

The special interests have blocked real transportation solutions for too long. I supported legislation jump-starting rapid funding for highway construction in Puget Sound. As a Councilmember, I will be able to serve on the board overseeing these transportation projects.

Roach Gets Results - I am proud to be the prime sponsor of the juvenile justice reform bill that was signed into law in 1997. With bipartisan support, I helped push through tougher drunk driving laws. I support law enforcement because I believe women and seniors should feel safe in their own homes.

Roach Protects Our Freedoms - Endorsements for Pam Roach include Puget Sound Republicans and the Washington Taxpayers Association. I would appreciate your support.
