List of Candidates for
CITY OF MEDINA COUNCIL POS. NO. 07, 4 YR TERM

Todd L. Nunn

As your neighbor, I have enjoyed the many benefits of living in Medina: an easy bus commute to my job as an attorney in Downtown Seattle; beautiful parks and trails; the security of a safe, established neighborhood; and the opportunity for my two young sons to attend top rated Medina Elementary. I’ve met many of you while serving on the Planning Commission and many have met my wife Heija who has been involved with Medina Days for several years. If elected to the City Council I will work hard, as I have on the Planning Commission, to preserve our quality of life by addressing those issues that concern us all, including: increased traffic, fair zoning, and pedestrian safety. My goal is to preserve the residential charm and character that attracted all of us to Medina in the first place. I respectfully ask for your vote in November.

Stewardship...

After tossing tomatoes for many seasons, I’m ready to dodge them. If unworthy, please save my seat in the pews. We are a community of neighborhoods with differing needs and wants. All will have my voice and ear. Whether 520, Jets, Fairweather Park, the Budget, Traffic, Public Safety, BCS traffic, Community Amenities, Saving green street rights-of-way from whimsical paving, City Contractor Competence, Hearing Examiner, the Store, or Goose Poop, my nose is in it. In July, several council members approved introducing modified speed bumps to Medina on recommendation of a Seattle contractor who testified he would not want them in his neighborhood. All neighborhoods deserve representation. "Community" is about caring when someone else’s ox is being gored. My opponent’s firm represents the Port of Seattle(jets?), the State(520?), and cellular companies(microwave towers?). These potential conflicts and appearance of fairness issues may require his recusation from important Council matters.
