Devoted husband and father who has lived in Algona for over ten years. Hard working business owner and professional who served in the Marines for nine years and participated in Operation Desert Storm overseas.
Building projects and problems around us concerned me so I started attending council meetings several years ago. At times, taking part in grassroots efforts to ensure the community is well informed and given the opportunity to participate. My work and life experience has given me the background and desire to serve in a way that would benefit our community.
Over the next four years, I will strive to keep everyone apprised of issues that affect us, ensuring that our friendly neighborhood atmosphere be kept in tact while allowing for appropriate growth. Together, we can direct our city's future in a positive way. Such as, providing clean and safe streets, while giving recreation opportunities to our youth.

I bought in Algona ten years ago, married five years ago, and have a three year old. This is home and we have no plans to leave.
Algona is growing fast. There are several large projects in progress. While I'm not a believer in big government, our city's infrastructure will have to keep up with the challenge of this and future growth.
Another challenge we face, property values are substantially lower than the surrounding area. Junk cars and lots covered with bush are a big part of the problem. Some of us need to clean up our mess. The city has the tools to encourage us, but not always the will to use them.
If elected I will meet the challenges with clear, objective thinking, and innovative solutions that do not extend the influence of city hall any more than necessary.
Thank you for your vote.

I have lived in Algona for eight years, my wife Barbara (Dodson) has lived here most of her life. We have two kids and own and operate Country Corner, the Deli/U-bake pizza business downtown. I want to add my strong work ethic, problem solving skills and fresh perspective to our council. I hope to encourage common sense growth while protecting Algona's small town ambiance. I will work hard to represent the interests of my fellow citizens and neighboring businesses. Feel free to contact me to hear what I hope to accomplish. Let's work together to make our town better.
