CITY OF AUBURN MAYOR

Note to Voters: The statements below are written by the candidates, who are solely responsible for the contents therein.

List of Candidates for
CITY OF AUBURN MAYOR:

Dave
ONDIK

It would be my honor to be the voice of the citizens of Auburn in City Hall. As your Mayor, I will make myself available through a new open door policy and other convenient ways. Auburn has grown rapidly over the last few decades and needs to be more responsive to our larger, more diverse population. I love our city and I know I can make it a better place. With your help, we can repair the problems we face in today's society, starting right here at home. I am not another political bureaucrat; I am an ambitious, concerned citizen who wants to bring the people's voice back into City Hall. Your vote for me on September 18 is a vote for your own empowerment in the city government of Auburn. Together, we can make Auburn the best "small town" city it can be. Thank you for your support.

Virginia
HAUGEN

Virginia Haugen uses four important words in her campaign for Mayor: Obligation, Goals, and Forward Motion. Auburn has an obligation to provide necessary services and information regarding issues that impact residents and their neighborhood. Former council member Haugen consistently cast votes that required Auburn to meet obligations to its entire population, and personally provided information to residents and business owners. Ms. Haugen's Goals: Honest Communication with citizens; Cost effective capital projects; Affordable open space; Water conservation; Better police standards; and Reduction of sales and entertainment taxes. My opponents have allowed growth we could not provide services for, and promised developers utilities we cannot pay for. They ignored Our Fire Departments need for equipment until two people nearly lost their lives in a fire, and have failed to answer their neighbors pertinent questions. Haugen has answers. Haugen is Forward Motion.

Stacey
BROTHERS

Stacey Brothers is our neighborhood's voice at city hall. During his fourteen years of service, as our Councilman, Stacey fought to preserve Auburn's livability.

As a council leader, Stacey chaired the effort to increase police patrols by 35% and add 2 new fire stations. He worked to create Game Farm, Wilderness, Cameron and Lakeland Hills parks.

Stacey believes government serves best when it is responsive to the needs of our residents. When developers proposed building a massive garbage incinerator in Auburn, Stacey said, "No."

Stacey's vision of Auburn puts the needs of neighborhoods first. When the county wanted to build a 900 bed maximum security jail, only five blocks from Dick Scobee Elementary School, Stacey said, "No."

Stacey believes that new development should not be a burden to Auburn's taxpayers. Stacey Brothers has the experience and the energy we need at city hall.

Vote Stacey Brothers, Mayor of Auburn.
