I love Des Moines and I will have a positive impact on our city serving as your council member. We all want a city council that will be more pro-active and responsive to the approximate 30,000 people who live and work here, and after living here twenty years I feel a sense of duty to give back to my community.
As a small business owner I have learned the best way to succeed is to stay true to my values, my strong work ethic, and to always be willing to learn from others. Listening to my fellow property owners I hear resounding support to pursue measures to ease traffic congestion; continue the "good fight" against the third runway…it's NOT a done deal; support our police department so we don't suffer another tragedy.
Des Moines is where I someday hope to retire and I'd like the opportunity to serve you.

I am a King County water commissioner in Des Moines, vice president and board member of the Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, and board member of the Des Moines Marina Association. I AM INVOLVED in coaching youth sports and volunteering hundreds of hours each year in our community. I have a nine-year-old son at Des Moines Elementary and a grown daughter who teaches high school at Mount Si.
I understand and AM INVOLVED with the inner workings of our city, and WILL FIGHT to protect your rights and maintain our outstanding police force. I WILL FIGHT to protect our downtown businesses and WILL WORK to preserve our small town atmosphere. I LOVE OUR TOWN.

A resident of Des Moines for 12 years and a dedicated professional in real estate - as well as raising a family, has given Susan a unique and intimate perspective of Des Moines. Susan understands the sensitive balance needed to preserve the finest qualities of Des Moines. Her efforts have included advocacy for special-needs children, service as a Redondo Community Club Council Member, and as advisor to the Des Moines Legacy Foundation.
Susan is committed to addressing concerns surrounding Sea-Tac airport expansion. Her vision for Des Moines includes support for the redevelopment of the Highway 99 corridor between S. 216th and Kent-Des Moines Road, creating a showpiece entrance for Des Moines, additional City revenue, and a safer environment. She actively supports the senior community, parks and recreation, and community policing.
Susan will listen and take decisive action and can be counted on to represent the citizens of Des Moines.
