Ray Griffin, currently serving as one of your Water Commissioners, was appointed to fill a vacancy in 1996. He has been a resident of this district since 1973. Ray, a retired machinist, resides in Maplewood Heights and has been active in community affairs for many years.
As a Commissioner, Ray has also worked to ensure that new development pays its fair share of the cost to our water system. Ray has also been instrumental in the efforts to get our new well operational by early 2002. The new well will help keep our rates stable and provide more independence from the Seattle Water Utility.
"Keeping ratepayers costs as low as possible, and replacing old leaking mains to save water and customers money, is now, and always has been, my first priority. Please support me with your vote." Thank You!

As your personal representative on our water district, I will be instrumental in providing a safe and reliable supply of high quality drinking water and at a reasonable cost both now and in the future. I don't believe water rates need to double or triple in the next five years as recently predicted by a member of the present Board.
I seek this position because I feel that Citizen participation is best accomplished by periodic changes in the Bureaucracy of an organization. We need Commissioners that will direct a qualified, top-rated and professional management/employee team.
I have been a property owner and resident of our community since 1963. Studied Business Law at the Universities of North Dakota and Washington. I spent ten years as a Procurement Supervisor with Boeing, twenty-five years as owner of a worldwide transportation business and the CEO of a local manufacturing firm.

I have been a property owner in this district for over 40 years. I recently retired from the utility and excavation business, that I operated for over 25 years. I think that I have time and expertise to learn and understand the challenges and needs of the water district. If elected I will serve the needs and responsibilities of the job to the best of my abilities.
