List of Candidates for
JUDGE POS. NO. 03, 4 YR TERM /Exp.:06

Judith R. Eiler /NP /

Since I have no opponent in this election I wish to take this opportunity to thank the voters who have elected and re-elected me to the Federal Way Division of the King County District Court over the last 10 years. This will be the last election in which the Federal Way Division will exist. In 2003 the King County Council’s new redistricting plan will take effect making the Federal Way Division a part of the South Division which will encompass the current District Courts of Renton, Aukeen, Southwest and Federal Way.

The District Court is truly the “People’s Court.” The combined criminal and civil caseload of the new South Division will total more than 80,000 filings per year. Most citizens will never have contact with any other court during their entire lives.

District Court also summons jurors to hear criminal and civil matters. I wish to publicly thank those jurors who accepted the responsibilities of citizenship and served in our courts. We could not function effectively without these citizens who are an essential part of the justice process.

I look forward to serving South King County as a Judge in the District Court.
