Judicial Experience: pro tem Judge for King County District Courts in Federal Way, Aukeen, Southwest,
Renton, Bellevue and Northeast. Kirkland Municipal Court. She currently presides over cases including but not
limited to: DUI’s, Assault, Domestic Violence, Protection Orders, Misdemeanors, Small Claims and Traffic
infractions. • Legal Experience: Criminal and civil cases in private practice. Government prosecution (specializing
in prosecution of DUI and domestic violence cases). • Other Relevant Experience: Continuing Legal Education
Seminar Speaker. • Community Organizations: Federal Way Rotary, St. Theresa’s Church. • Personal Interests:
Spending time w/family, gardening and travel.
ELIZABETH STEPHENSON: Since 1998 Elizabeth Stephenson has served as a pro tem Judge presiding over
thousands of hearings. Her extensive legal and judicial experience makes her the best candidate for the position.
Elizabeth Stephenson’s impartiality as a Judge pro tem, balancing the public’s interest in justice while ensuring
that an individual’s rights are protected, makes her an exceptional judicial candidate. She emphasizes a fair and
firm application of the law and holds people accountable for their actions. She is objective, efficient, and
demonstrates personal and professional integrity. Because of these attributes, she is highly esteemed by Judges,
colleagues, law enforcement and by the Federal Way community. Elizabeth Stephenson will be an excellent Judge.

I seek a position as King County District Court Judge because of my commitment to justice and belief in our
American judicial system. My legal experience over sixteen years has included positions as the Auburn
Prosecutor, the first Federal Way Prosecutor, public defender, and the founding member of a private law firm.
I have served hundreds of hours as pro tem judge in Auburn, Kent, Renton and King County District Courts.
City Police Chiefs have appointed me as Drug Forfeiture Hearing Examiner for Kent (current) and Federal Way
(past). My community and professional activities include membership on the YMCA Board of Managers, yearly
YMCA Youth Fundraising (twice as Chair), as Past President of the South King County Bar Association, state
bar committees, plus school and community events. I am married with three children who attend public school
in Federal Way. I care deeply about the safety and future of each of our children and families. With my
experience, I will be honored to serve as your judge with a daily promise of fairness, impartiality, and integrity.
I will treat all people with dignity and respect while making each decision required by the law to achieve our
common goal of justice.
